okay so!, i found your pictures on flickr a few years ago.. and i could never get you/them out of my head. so i just decided to google you like last week and found your tumblr. [[: they're pretty amazing. just wanted to put that out there. but i have 2 questions as welll. ^.^ 1.) is it hard for you to get a picture that you like? like, when you're actually in one do you have to take a ton before you're okay with how you look in them? and 2.) do you ever worry about getting your clothes dirty??
thankyou! :] sometimes it’s kindof hard. i have good days and bad days with that. usually if i’m in ~the zone it works real well and quickly. and nah i don’t really worry about ruining my clothes. things can be washed and even if they’re a bit messed up, i’ll still wear them anyway.
I am actually in love with the photos you take and everything. They just inspire me a lot and I want to do the same thing but the only problem is I have no one around that has the same interest as me so no one around me knows places like that. And because I live in Paris I have no idea where to find abandoned places. Do you know where I can find some? thank you very much, loving your art and clothes <3
ahh thankyou! :] <3 if you search on flickr maybe, “abandoned paris” you could find some things. and maybe by doing that, you can find some people who like to explore abandoned buildings too. or just ask someone, even if they’ve never done it, they might like it!
do you use a tripod for your self-portraits? or do you direct a friend to take the picture you want?
99% of the time i will use either a legit tripod or a psuedotripod made of boxes or drawers or bricks or rocks. every once in awhile i’ll show someone the composition i want, and then have them press the button.
ever since I'd see your photos with abondoned photos I thought "well there it is. I want to do THAT" :) I was wondering though, how do you find these places, do you go in alone, and aren't you ever scared (of animals or dangerous critters, that sort of thing)?
:] i find them by driving around out in the country mostly (lots of people go to more industrial places, but i like houses better), from friends who are interested in the same thing, or sometimes by searching online, like on flickr searching “abandoned [town or state or county]” and seeing what shows up. i’ve never really thought of dangerous animals, since i’m in northern illinois and we don’t have too many poisonous killer things up here. but i worry about dangerous people sometimes. mostly i worry about cops. but, oh, yeah, it’s never good to go alone! going with at least one other person is super important, just in case something was to happen.
